Crackdown on Unlicensed Notaries in India

taj-mahal-366_1280   In Delhi, India, countless unlicensed notaries are operating against the law, and the government is beginning to crack down on each fraudulent notary public. Many fake notaries are setting up shop near passport offices, and court complexes and law enforcement is starting to perform raids on suspected scams.

A magistrate in the New Delhi district noticed forged signatures on documents and missing elements of signatures and stamps on affidavits. These falsified documents were traced back to several institutions with unlicensed public notaries, and they are now facing charges of their fraud.
